Description
2024 Tasting Noe: what this little cake has flourished to is simply lovely! I was searching for a “profile” to better fit what I just detected in the smell: it was not all yiwu-y honey-spiciness, and it was not all banzhan-y ethereal fragrance. It had its own nutty honey aroma with a refreshing floral scent. The liquor was a mature amber color. Medium-bodied texture. The flavor profile was clean – the very early smokiness has totally gone. After-taste was sweet, but I would not say long lingering – it was like melting and comfortable. I did three steepings and it was ready to give more for sure.
Correction: this batch was produced in March 2005, not 2004
The native pu-erh trees in the Zhai Zhi Po region is different from other Yunnan big-leaf tea trees: it is categorized as “small-leaf arbor” tea trees.
We found the pictures of this small cake we took in 2006. Unfortunately, there is no picture of the liquor. But you can still tell from the change in the color of the leaves.
Note: the weight recorded in the New Born Pu-erh Teas for this tea is incorrect. Its wrapper clearly indicates 145g, not 357g.
Please note that some of the wrapping paper of the Puerh tea cakes might be torn because of years of storage. However, we’ll try our best to pick the most intact Puerh cake for you and pack the tea cake nicely. If you can’t accept the conditions described above about Puerh tea, please choose our other tea selections. Thanks.
