2024 tasting update: the liquor has matured to a bright amber color. Pleasant sweetness in the foreground of the aroma and a blend of organic mushroom-like and floral scents in the background. Very clean profile. Medium body with robust taste. Amazingly long after-taste starts with bitterness and gradually transforms to sweetness. Nice ageing progress but still feels young and potent.

Harvest/Production Year: 2009

Manufacturer: Meng Hai Hen Kang Tea Factory

Weight: 357g

Description: Another high-quality pu-erh made by the tea factory owned by a Taiwanese. My first impression of this semi-aged cake was – somewhat sweet and caramelized like Yi-Chang Hao of Chang Tai factory, but with more firm, bold and lingering after-taste. Bright amber colored liquor with nice clarity, no smokiness, and in obvious clean storage condition. And at this price for a 2009 cake, I could not ask for more.
